Class policies
What adult students ask before a first class.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching a class
Friends and family are welcome on the bench by the door and can watch any class. Ask the instructor before you bring a guest onto the floor.
What to wear and partner hygiene
A plain t-shirt and loose, stretchy trousers or shorts are fine for a first class. Come in a clean top, keep nails short, take off jewelry, tie hair back and shower after class if you can, since you share the floor with partners. Bare feet or flat training shoes on the mat.
When to stay home
If you have a fever, a cough or anything that could spread on a shared floor, stay home and message us. A missed class can be made up. Please don't send health details through the website.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for holidays and for the occasional storm. We post closures on the booking page and text everyone on the class list that morning.
Leaving the studio
Tell us in writing and give 30 days' notice. Billing stops when the notice ends. The same words are on the membership page.
Screens and phones
Phones stay on silent on the floor. Filming in class needs the instructor's say-so and your partner's, and never during a drill.

Safety routines
Class size
Classes are up to 18 students, and every class has an instructor on the floor.
Partners set the pace
In every drill you and your partner agree on speed and contact first. A tap or the word stop ends a drill at once.
Pads and gear
Strikes land on pads and shields. An instructor checks gloves and wraps before pad work begins.
Floor rules
Clean tops, short nails, no jewelry and no outdoor shoes on the mat.
